Congratulations to the varsity girls tennis team on winning their way into today's District Championship at Nashboro Village Tennis Center! Caroline Fry, Hannah Johnson, Chelsea Harrison, and Katie Gilchrist all won their singles matches in straight sets and Gabbie Starace came back in hers, as the girls beat third seed CPA, 4-0. This was the team's eighth straight victory, bringing their district record to 9-1.

The Donelson Christian Academy 2008 Varsity Girls Tennis Team, with an 9-1 record, will be playing Ezell-Harding today at Nashboro Village for the District Championship. The girls are the youngest team in the district to make the tournament this year with six sophomores and a freshman, yet it is the first year of varsity for only one of the girls, freshman Maddie Hemphill. Led by #1 singles player Caroline Fry and Gabbie Starace, in their third year of varsity and undefeated in doubles, Hannah Johnson, undefeated in singles, Chelsea Harrison, Katie Gilchrist, and Kirsten Stricklin are all in their second year; so this is the best of all combinations: a young team with experience. All of the girls have at least two years of eligibility left, and with the middle school girls as strong as they are, this should be a very good team for a very long time!
