The 2009 DCA Baseball team will be looking to replace the seven seniors lost to graduation. The biggest challenge will be in the pitching staff and middle infield. The only returning pitcher with considerable innings pitched is Alex Boshers. Alex finished the 2008 season with 3-3 record and a 3.42 ERA working primarily in relief. Alex will be used this year  in a starting role, as well as spot relief. He pitched 30 innings last year holding opponents to a .280 average. Sophomore left handed Taylor Wilson is expected to shoulder much of the load on the hill. Brad Warren returns to the lineup after sitting out his sophomore year with a shoulder injury. Brad hit .347 as a freshman and is expected to return to form in 09’. Junior Wacey Russell (.372 BA) and senior Justin Johnston (.354) return in the outfield for the Wildcats. Neil Hickman (.307) and Cody Pointer return behind the dish. There will be a lot of new faces in the lineup come opening day. It will be exciting to see who emerges as this year’s breakout player of the year.
