First Grade is a very fun and exciting year. While working with Margaret Elrod, Peggi Seaman, and Becky Vinson, you will see a big change in your first grader. Your child will experience many “firsts” this year. First spelling test. First homework. First A.R. test. First Math facts. First individual desk. The list could go on from here. We stay very busy during the day. Our main focus is on Reading and the skills needed to make your child a successful reader. We learn many addition and subtraction facts during the year. We use hands on Science units and also have “fun weeks” throughout the year. To enhance our curriculum we go on several field trips during the year. We are here to assist you as you raise your child . We are your partners during this important school year.
