- Continually foster good relationships between students, parents, faculty, staff, and administration at DCA.
- Define and implement projects and programs which will support the activities and programs of DCA through financial and/or voluntary assistance.
- Inform the school family concerning the needs of DCA.
- Provide an avenue of communication through the PTO President to the DCA Board of Trustees.
- Support the academic, social, and spiritual needs of DCA.

MEMBERSHIP AND DUES
The following individuals are eligible for membership in the PTO:
- DCA faculty and staff
- DCA alumni
- DCA Board of Trustees, past and present
- DCA parents or legal guardians and relatives
Dues are currently $25 per family for the 2007-2008 school year. You now have the option to pay your PTO membership dues with your tuition and other fees on your June tuition statement beginning in June 2007. The PTO will still conduct its annual membership drive at the beginning of the school year, and members may still be admitted at any time during the year after having paid the annual dues, but offering the option to pay your PTO dues with your tuition makes it even more convenient to support the PTO.
All members are eligible to participate in its business meetings and are able to serve in any of its elected or appointed positions. Each PTO member family has one vote.
PTO membership dues are divided among the PTO and the following DCA organizations:
Athletic Boosters
Academic Boosters
Band Boosters
Fine Arts Boosters
Choir Boosters

PTO BOARD OF DIRECTORS
The PTO Board of Directors consists of elected officers and the following group of ex officio board members: an appointed Parliamentarian, the DCA Headmaster, and two Teacher Advisory Representatives (one representing the lower school and one representing the middle and upper schools).
PTO officers consist of the President, Executive Vice President, two Vice Presidents, Secretary, and Treasurer. These officers are elected and installed at the spring meeting, and their duties begin July 1. The Parliamentarian is appointed by the PTO President. Officers are required to serve a term of one year or from the time of their election until June 30. They are requested to serve two years. PTO officers remain in office until their successors are elected. No PTO officer is eligible to be elected to the same office for more than two consecutive terms. A full term is considered more than six months for each PTO officer.

PTO MEETINGS
There are a minimum of two membership meetings each year, one per semester. The spring meeting is the annual meeting at which time annual reports are received. The privilege of holding office, making motions, debating, and voting is limited to PTO members.

FINANCIAL SUPPORT
Any school-supported organization, grade, or class may request funds from the PTO by submitting a PTO Wish List Form to the PTO Board for consideration and approval. Funds raised by the PTO during any school year will be allocated based on PTO Wish List requests received through the end of that fiscal year. Any remaining funds will be carried over to the next fiscal year at the discretion of the PTO Board.
PTO funds are also utilized for teacher tuition assistance, senior awards, and a yearbook ad.
